MeWe for Athletes and Sports Teams

Testimonial from a Gymnastics Coach

There are multiple reasons why MeWe is a valuable tool for all types of individual athletes and sports teams.

Being a recent student athlete, I for one would have loved to use this kind of internet site to help organize, share, and keep my team members updated on what is scheduled for the coming weeks. Not sure how to do that? Let me share…

One of the most important features that Sgrouples has to offer where athletes are concerned is the communal calendar. Every member of a sports-oriented Sgrouples group is able to see when and where their next practices or competitions will take place. Not to mention the ability to schedule team events and/or functions. Sports that have daily or weekly assignments can be posted and updated in one place – again, available to all members. And if you’re a student athlete and you need to notify your professors (this would be geared towards NCAA Athletes), medical appointments can also be placed on your calendar.

The document sharing feature is also helpful. Assignments can be uploaded, distributed, and viewed by all team members, coaching staff, and medical trainers. Templates and Forms can be shared as well and are accessible for everyone.

Sometimes, teams need to a place to work out strategies or just discuss their progress. All discussions amongst the team, or even one-on-one messaging, can be kept private. If it’s inconvenient for you to talk in person, this messaging system allows those private discussions to be kept just that way: private.

And lastly, there is the ability to share photos. As athletes, you are ambassadors to your sports. And yes, things can get a little wild, especially after a big win over your rivals. But do you really want those pictures you took from last night to be posted on Facebook where everyone can see? Sgrouples will allow you to share the memories in a secure and private group where only you and your group members can see. (This option is definitely geared towards the NCAA Athletes or even professional athletes for that matter.) And the video sharing feature (coming soon!) may be handy if you’re training away from your team and need to update them visually. Just upload a video of your latest training session.

As athletes, we are bound to that grueling schedule set by our coaches, the media, and even our own personal lives. But Sgrouples is here to help provide a neat and organized way for athletes, coaches, medical staff, and all involved to share information with each other in one private place. In my personal opinion, I don’t see how any athletes or sports team would not want to use Sgrouples. It offers so much!

Make a MeWe group for each of your teams – your college football team, your intramural soccer team, your friends who like to get together and play catch…Parents and coaches of young athletes can help manage teams from Sgrouples, and parents can also have their own group in which they can connect and coordinate snack schedules and carpools.

With the posts you can make to your groups, plus the ability to contact people one-on-one or in private threads through Direct Messaging, discussing the latest sports news, the intimidating prospect on the opposing team, or your newest game plan is as easy as talking in person. And all discussions are kept absolutely private.

Use the Discussions feature to post links to websites with great training information, YouTube videos of athletes you find inspiring, maps to the next away game, and more.

You can upload photos of in-game action or the winners’ podium afterwards.

With Editable Documents, you can share and collaborate on elaborate team strategies or spreadsheets with team finances.

And with Sgrouples and your Events Calendar, it’s easy to plan each and every sporting event, while also maintaining your own personal schedule.

We’d also like to note that with links, documents, and a place for discussions, Sgrouples might be a great resource for organizing and implementing Fantasy Sports Leagues
